    Animals:Animals were Bighorn sheep.
     Breeds associated:

    Design:Animals were genotyped using the Ovine Infinium HD SNP BeadChip and analyzed for horn and body size.
    Analysis:First, a base linear-mixed effect model was fitted without SNP effects but including a genome-wide relationship matrix (GRM) to account for polygenic effects and individual ID as a random effect to account for repeated measures. Second, the estimated (co)variance matrix from the first step was used when individual SNPs were tested for association with the phenotype. Specifically, associations were assessed using a linear model and p-values were calculated with a Wald statistic.
