QTL Experiment in Brief |
Animals: | Animals were Hereford cattle. |
Breeds associated:
|
Design: | Animals were genotyped using the Illumina BovineHD BeadChip, and GWAS was performed for eyelid pigmentation. A total of 591,755 SNPs were used for analysis. |
Analysis: | Genomic regions associated with total eyelid pigmentation were identified based on two alternative approaches. The first approach was the amount of genetic variance explained by 2.0 Mb window of adjacent SNPs evaluated across the entire bovine genome. The second approach was the identification of relevant SNP markers based on their P-values. |
